Business Road Show
Following the request from the Hub’s manufacturing group, the Hub in partnership with Gary Barr, of Manufacturing Advisory Service organised a buyer supplier day with a difference.
Last year the Hub ran a traditional meet the buyer event in Hastings where suppliers could pitch to key buyers. We wanted buyers to see first hand the manufacturing capability of local suppliers, so this year we organised a meet the supplier day whereby the Hub arranged for certain major buyers from East Sussex to visit with suppliers.
The event enabled like minded professionals to see all aspects of a business, ask questions and understand how the business responds to customer needs and demands. This provided an opportunity for the supplier to present their company’s credentials, but also gave the buyer some quality time with suppliers to update themselves with the latest innovations and best practise the buyers have helped to developed.
Gary Barr, from MAS commented: “The usual format for this type of event allows suppliers to meet with buyers at a staged event, which usually provides too much information for a single representative to take in, plus the buyer does not get a feel for the way in which the company operates. The meet the supplier programme enables like minded professionals to see all aspects of a business, ask questions and understand how the business responds to customer needs and demands.”
