Grant and Funding Opportunities explained
80 delegates attended the recent Grant and Funding event at the Azur Pavilion in St Leonards. The event featured a number of speakers who outlined the opportunities for grants and funding available to businesses in the south east.
Hub Director Jim Christy opened the event by presenting an overview of SEEDA, Research and Development Grants. Other speakers included Jeremy Green from Ten Sixty Six Enterprise, who spoke about the Government's Grant for Business Investment and how businesses across East Sussex may be able to access grant aid of up to 20% for investment in capital equipment.
Graham Wright, Director of Business and Commercial Banking for NatWest in Brighton and Rupert Kirby, Relationship Manager for NatWest in Eastbourne explained the purpose of the bank’s £250m fund for SMEs in Eastbourne and Hastings. The duo also discussed how businesses can gain access to funding under the Government-backed Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme and advised how SMEs can continue to trade successfully in the current climate.
Sally Goodsell, Chief Executive of Finance Southeast, backed by SEEDA, also outlined a number of funding options available to business enterprise and support including Commercialisation Fund and early stage product development and marketing fund, the South East SEED Fund for high growth opportunities and the Accelerator Fun which fills the gap between debt and equity funding.
