Environmental Technologies 2009 Showcase
Over 100 delegates attended an environmental technology event on Wednesday 30th September, at the new Energy Centre, which is managed by Sussex Coast College, Hastings. East Sussex Hub clients, SolarUK, EVRS Bottle Alley Glass, Ltd, Tiger Enterprise, and Elektromotive presented and demonstrated their innovative technolgies to significantly reduce our carbon footprint as the businesses are involved in Solar Power, Glass Bottle Recycling (Designer Glass) Construction Reuse building Materials, Electric Vehicles. Sea Space, infrastructure delivery vehicle for Hastings and Bexhill Regeneration Ltd outlined the exciting plans for the new Enviro 21 Business Park - a series of sustainable business parks that will host a community of environmental and technology companies with innovation in their blood – for completion for next year.
The Hub thought the new Sussex Coast College Energy Centre an ideal venue for to showcase local environmental technologies. Dr Mohan Chana, VP of Sussex Coast College, Hastings, along with Mick O’Driscoll, Energy Centre Manager were delighted to showcase their state of the art Centre which utilises the latest industrial equipment to deliver bespoke courses in Plumbing, Electrical Installation Gas and Electrical accreditation and Renewable Technologies. This will provide a unique opportunity to develop technology with businesses and significantly raise the skills level and job opportunities for local people in the construction industry. The Hub leads an East Sussex Environmental Technology Advisory Group whose mission is to identify the support needed for environmental technology businesses to link businesses with Research and Development , University Technology support along with business collaborations / project bids and funding opportunities.
