Keeping Score

For the ninth year running, Hastings agency Terabite Ltd has provided graphic design and web application development expertise for the website for The Open Championship golf event in Turnberry, Scotland (www.opengolf.com).

Golf fans across the world were able to keep up-to-date with their favourite players’ scores using near real-time scoring systems designed and maintained by Terabite. Enthusiasts followed the championship via the website or on a free iPhone application which rapidly became the most downloaded sports application on iTunes.
At their peak receiving over 750 page impressions per second, the website and scoring systems experienced no downtime and millions of users across the world enjoyed a media-rich wealth of information about the Open Championship event. For the first time, the BBC Sport website also featured a golf scoring system operated by Terabite.
