Grants & Funding Workshop Success
80 delegates attended a recent Grant and Funding event at the Azur Pavilion in St Leonards, to find out about schemes available to local businesses.
The event was organised by the Enterprise Hub as part of the Credit Punch series, designed to help businesses through the recession. Hub Director Jim Christy presented an overview of SEEDA Research & Development Grants; Jeremy Green from Ten Sixty Six Enterprise spoke about the Government's Grant for Business Investment through which businesses could access grant aid of up to 20% for investment in capital equipment.
Graham Wright, Director of Business and Commercial Banking for NatWest in Brighton and Rupert Kirby, Relationship Manager for NatWest in Eastbourne explained the purpose of the bank’s 250 million pound fund for SMEs. They discussed how businesses can gain access to funding under the Government-backed Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme and advised how SMEs can continue to trade successfully in the current climate.
Sally Goodsell, Chief Executive of Finance Southeast, outlined options and support available to business enterprise, including Commercialisation Fund and early stage product development and marketing fund, the South East SEEDA Fund for high growth opportunities and the Accelerator Fund, which fills the gap between debt and equity funding.
