Solar-Buying Clubs launch in the South-East
Solar Clubs.com, a Sussex-based social enterprise, has recently launched three solar buying clubs across the south-east region.
The group purchasing scheme allows residents to register for discounts of up to 20% on the cost of installing solar panels on their homes or business premises.
Found of www.solarclubs.com, Mr Nick Hanna says:
“Recent policy changes have abolished subisidies for larger schemes (from 50kW to 5MW) and this has created some uncertainty as to what’s actually happening.
“However, the whole point of the Feed-in-Tarrif is to encourage small-scale microgeneration and most householders will be installing systems in the 2-3 kW range so they will remain unaffected by this change.”
There are now three solar clubs operating across the south-east: East Sussex, Brighton & Lewes, and West Kent. Residents in any of these areas simply need to register on the website to access details of the deals available and request a free, no obligation quote.
Mr Hanna adds:
“SolarClubs.com is impartial and independent - we select only the best solar installers and they have to go through rigorous checks.
“Club members benefit from dealing with a quality supplier offering the most competitive prices in the market”
Solar photovoltaics (pv) currently benefit from healthy returns thanks to the Government’s Feed-In-Tarrif (FIT) which pays 43.3p per kilowatt of electricity produced, index-linked for the next 25 years.
Mr Hanna says:
“This means a payback time of around 8 years, after which you can enjoy green profits for the next 17 years.
“Where can you get that kind of an investment return anywhere else?”
The current tariffs are guaranteed on any installation completed before April 1st, 2012. Check out www.solarclubs.com for your local deal now.
