The Hub's managing organisation is Sea Space and is supported by the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA). Our local partners are the Hastings & Bexhill Task Force, Hastings Borough Council, Rother District Council, East Sussex County Council, Sussex Learning and Skills Council and Sussex Enterprise.

University Centre Hastings
University Centre Hastings (UCH) is a collaborative venture involving some of the best universities and higher education colleges in the south east of England. It represents a new concept in higher education, with courses delivered in Hastings and qualifications awarded by the partner universities and colleges. UCH is an initiative in partnership with the Hastings & Bexhill Task Force, the University of Brighton, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University of Greenwich, Hastings College of Arts and Technology, The Open University and the University of Sussex. East Sussex Hub has strong links with the University as part of their network Hub clients will find of immense value to their business.
University of Brighton
Partnership with the professions and businesses are at the heart of the University of Brighton's mission. The University's research and development services and specialist facilities benefits businesses and organisations of all sizes and across a range of industry sectors. They support student, staff and graduate entrepreneurs as well as to business start-ups in Sussex and beyond. Brighton University used to run Eastbourne Enterprise Hub, a forerunner of the East Sussex Hub, and because of this robust communications between the University and East Sussex Hub continue.
Brighton and Sussex Medical School
The Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) is a partnership between the Universities of Brighton and Sussex, and as such, benefits from the Universities distinctive traditions and shared strengths in biomedical sciences, healthcare and professional education. The BSMS is committed to providing first class undergraduate and postgraduate training which links clinical medicine to basic science and research. Strong, internationally recognised research groups have been established in the fields of infectious diseases, immunity, international health, neuromuscular biology, oncology and primary care. East Sussex Hub recognises that the nurtured strong links with BSMS can help high tech businesses succeed with strength of links, resources and networking jointly with the University.
University of Greenwich
The University of Greenwich has one hundred years of innovation, strong links to industry and commerce, complemented by research excellence and an international agenda. They have campuses in South East London (Greenwich Maritime, Avery Hill) and North Kent (Medway & Kings Hill) complemented by easy access to services and facilities for local businesses right along the Thames Gateway. The University works with organisations not only in the South East but across the country and throughout the world. With the Hub's links to the University these resources are invaluable to Hub clients.
University of Sussex
The University of Sussex is a leading research institution with strengths across a broad range of disciplines. Many of their faculty are academics which are world renown, working at the cutting edge of their disciplines. The University has had a strong international focus since its foundation and has academic links with every continent. Based at Falmer, in between Lewes and Brighton, the University is home to researchers and students from over 120 countries and is invaluable to East Sussex as a resource to Hub clients.
Open University
The Open University provides a high quality university education for all under an umbrella of sections. A great source for Hub clients is the Innovation and Enterprise Centre which assists in the commercialisation of research ideas created by scientists, engineers, postgraduate students and other innovators. They help inventors articulate business cases for particular technology transfer initiatives, and assist in the formulation of a Business Planning Guide for specific projects and pursue third stream activities such as collaboration and enterprise ventures, technology and knowledge transfer and collaborative research and income generation. The research community is enhanced through collaborations with top ranked institutions in the UK and worldwide clustered into six major centres focusing upon key issues affecting the social, political and geographical well being of individuals, communities, cultures and nations. This centre is just one of the many resources the University can offer to members of it's network.
Canterbury Christ Church University College
The Canterbury Christ Church University College is the largest centre of higher education in Kent for the public services - notably teacher training, nursing, policing and social care - and is a significant provider of programmes in a wide range of academic and professional areas. East Sussex Hub is currently developing wider links with the University College to ensure additional networking for Hub clients.
Hastings College
Hastings College extends its considerable portfolio of services, skills and expertise directly to the needs of the local business community. They offer a one stop shop where all business enquiries are routed. The College is a great local source for education, professionals, venues and networking facilities. East Sussex Hub is closely working with the College to establish links with the local community and to develop NVQs in Manufacturing and training tailored to meet local business needs.
Buckswood School
Buckswood School is the cornerstone of the Buckswood Education Group, comprising the school, the Buckswood St George's centre for pre-university courses and year-round group programmes in St Leonards-on-Sea, and Buckswood St Nova Institute in Auckland, New Zealand, where all Buckswood School students have the opportunity to spend half a term in Form III (UK Year 9). They are a co-educational school for day and boarding students that offer breadth within the academic curriculum, both at GCSE and A Level.
Bexhill College
Bexhill College is a sixth form college with a long history of excellent post-16 education. In September 2004, the College moved into brand new buildings. The College has a reputation for good results, strong relationships between staff and students and outstanding support services.
University of Surrey
The University of Surrey works to maximise the performance of Units in research, enterprise and knowledge transfer and their activities reflect the University's commitment to engagement with the needs of society and the economy. The University makes their contribution by delivering high quality, professional support in four key areas, these are: Assisting the growth of a sustainable, world class research base, making it easy for a wide range of stake-holders to learn about, access and use the outcomes of that research, building capacity for enterprise and enabling entrepreneurial achievement and applying resources to achieve outstanding commercial success in technology and knowledge transfer. The East Sussex Enterprise Hub is developing stronger links with the University of Surrey in particular within the postgraduate sector.
University of Portsmouth
The University of Portsmouth was inaugurated in 1992. The former Portsmouth Polytechnic, one of the largest and most successful in the UK, itself grew from the Portsmouth and Gosport School of Science and Arts, founded in 1869. The University of Portsmouth aims to be a centre of excellence and innovation in education, student experience and employability, aspiration-raising, research, knowledge transfer and community leadership. It is is now at the forefront of a rapidly changing, thriving city, with a modern diverse campus, taking pride in its reputation among students for the friendliness and approachability of its staff, and for the provision of a well structured and supportive learning environment.
Centrim
Centrim is a research-based school at the University of Brighton with over fifteen years experience of research in technology and innovation management. During this time they have grown from a small unit located within a teaching faculty, to become an established centre within the University, with a staff of over twenty full and part-time researchers and administrators, as well as a growing number of postgraduate students and KTP associates.
Centrim is committed to sharing the results of its research, with all those who might benefit from it, through training and consultancy. Drawing from research they build products and services which will help businesses to solve problems, be more creative and adopt innovative solutions.
